Brigade Hotel Ventures (BHVL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government on 02 February, 2026, during the Tamil Nadu Global Tourism Summit.
The agreement, in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, commits BHVL to invest Rs 1,100 crore in expanding the state's tourism infrastructure and creating employment opportunities for over 1,000 people. As part of the project, BHVL plans to add more than 500 keys across three new hotels in Chennai. The properties include Courtyard by Marriott at the Chennai World Trade Center, Grand Hyatt Chennai on ECR, and JW Marriott Chennai on OMR. These hotels will significantly enhance the hospitality landscape, with the Courtyard by Marriott offering 45 rooms, Grand Hyatt featuring 211 rooms, and JW Marriott boasting 250 rooms and suites.
BHVL has already acquired land for these developments, aiming to establish key hospitality destinations in Chennai, a crucial part of its expansion in South India.
