Brookfield Asset Management plans to surpass USD 100 billion in investment in India within five years, signaling increased interest in nuclear energy amid the country’s clean energy drive.
The global asset management firm, currently managing nearly USD one trillion, views India as a future clean energy superpower and aims to double its overall AUM in the same timeframe. President Connor Teskey emphasised nuclear energy’s potential as a clean, reliable baseload power source.
Brookfield, which owns Westinghouse Nuclear, is evaluating opportunities in the nuclear sector and has already invested USD 30 billion in India since 2014 across infrastructure, real estate, renewables, and private equity. It remains focused on sectors like digital infrastructure, transportation, utilities, and manufacturing.
Brookfield is also a major player in India’s office space market and owns Leela Hotels, and remains committed to deploying capital in high-quality, critical assets.
