CG Power and Industrial Solutions (CGPISL) has bagged an order worth Rs 3,190 million from the Indian Railways.
The company will supply under slung electrics for diesel electric tower car (DETC). The Railways has taken up massive track electrification drive across the country which requires large quantities of DETCs.
More than 1,000 DETCs will be required for electrification and thereafter for inspection and maintenance in coming years.
The scope of supply of each diesel-electric propulsion system consists of integrated under slung power pack comprising diesel engine and alternator, power rectifiers, traction motors with both side suspension arrangement with accessories, and controlling devices with digital control signals.
The scope of supply also includes installation and testing of the complete propulsion system at ICF Chennai and commissioning of systems on DETCs all across India.
CGPISL is the first to design, develop, integrate, receive approval and commission state-of-the-art propulsion system for DETC with under slung electrics working in close coordination with ICF Chennai.
