Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply &
Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) has invited bids for undertaking works for the Chennai Water
Supply Augmentation Project – I in Tamil Nadu.
The project envisages drawal, treatment,
conveyance and distribution of 180 MLD water to Chennai city from Veeranam Eri
situated in Cuddalore, about 230 kms south of Chennai.
The works for which bids have been
invited are listed below:
Ø
Construction of raw water intake arrangement, raw water pumping station
at Sethiathope, treated water pumping station at Vadakuthu and allied works
Ø
Rehabilitation of existing water treatment plant at Vadakuthu including
replacement of electrical, mechanical equipment and O&M of these installations
for a period of five years
Ø
Supply and laying of raw water transmission main from
Sethiathope to water treatment plant at Vadaluthu, supply and laying of clear
water transmission main from Vadakuthu to break pressure tank, etc.
Ø
Supply and laying of clear water transmission main from
Ongur River to Vandalur and from Vandalur to Porur, among other works
The time period for completion of all the
works is 18 months.
The last date for submission of the bid documents
is 31 December 2001.
