In the 56th meeting of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) chaired by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, several major decisions were made regarding the development of Amaravati.
The government approved Rs 1,358 crore for the development of layouts in Amaravati, aiming to improve infrastructure in areas under the Land Pooling Scheme. A significant project will be the establishment of a pumping station at Rs 444 crore, with a capacity of 8,400 cusecs. The meeting also approved the creation of a Rs 103.96-crore research centre at the Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre, which will focus on advancing technology and positioning Amaravati as a hub for innovation.
CM Naidu emphasised the need for a cultural centre that reflects Andhra Pradesh’s heritage, blending tradition with modernity. "The cultural centre should represent the identity of Andhra Pradesh," said the Chief Minister. Additionally, plans for international-standard hotels and convention centers were discussed to support the growing capital.
