Chhattisgarh State Renewable
Development Agency is likely to open bids for surveyors-cum-developers at
Tatapani geothermal field by October 2008.
The 100 acre field is expected to have
a capacity of more than 100 MW of power, which will require an investment of
about Rs.500 crore. The first phase a survey will be undertaken to find the
exact potential of the field and after completion of the survey, the surveyor
cum developer will develop the field. Companies such as Tata Power, Bhilwara
Energy and Reliance Energy have shown keen interest in developing the field.
Mumbai based GeoSyndicate Power has already entered into an MoU with Tata Power for developing the field.The company will act as an advisor and will
receive royalty from Tata Power.
