Care Hospitals is planning to ramp up bed capacity by setting up greenfield hospitals in India.
The company plans to raise its bed capacity to 3,500 and intends to set up five new greenfield hospitals and a Rs 35-crore daycare Centre of Excellence by 2014. The proposed expansion is likely to involve a total investment of Rs 400 crore. The expansion plan is to be funded through a mix of debt and equity.
It has already started expansion work on its Banjara Hills and Nampally units in Andhra Pradesh. It is planning to set up new hospital at Gachibowli in Hyderabad. The 250-bed hospital will come up at an investment of Rs 105 crore. The proposed Rs 35-crore daycare centre, spread across 1,00,000 sq ft, will come up in Banjara Hills and house 100 counselling chambers, spas and dialysis centres.
