Chemco Group and Kandoi Group of Industries have announced a strategic joint venture to establish two advanced greenfield manufacturing units in Gujarat, with a combined investment of Rs ?450 crore. These facilities, to be located in Vapi and Dahej, are designed to offer an end-to-end solution for recycling and converting PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) bottles into high-performance industrial packaging.
The project underscores a major step toward sustainable packaging in India. The units will implement a closed-loop production system—from PET bottle collection and washing to tape extrusion, weaving, and final bag fabrication. This approach not only ensures product traceability and quality consistency but also significantly reduces environmental impact.
One of the key highlights of the initiative is its scale and ecological focus. The plants will recycle over 10 million PET bottles daily, totaling about 3.6 billion annually. Moreover, the facilities will be powered entirely by renewable energy sources, positioning them as low-carbon alternatives to conventional polypropylene and polyethylene packaging.
Chemco Group, known for its plastic packaging expertise, aims to transform everyday PET waste into valuable packaging products, creating benefits for businesses, communities, and the environment. “By transforming everyday PET waste into high-performance industrial packaging, we want to create value not just for businesses, but for communities and the environment,” said Ram Saraogi, Chairman of Chemco Group.
