The Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) has opened bids for general consultant (GC) contract of Line-4 for Phase-II of Chennai Metro Rail project in Tamil Nadu.
Nine bidders in a joint venture (JV) had presented expression of interest (EoI) for the general consultant.
With a distance of 26.09 km, East-West Line-4 will connect the lighthouse along with Poonamallee Bypass by Porur crossing 30 stations in the 118.9 km Chennai Metro Phase-II project.
The following are the nine JV bidders that presented the EoI:

II. JV of Egis Rail, MM, Italferr and Surbano Jurong Infrastructure
III. JV of Louis Berger, Geodata Engineering and Hill International
IV. JV of TPF Getinsa Euro studios Artelia and Rodic Consultants
V. JV of RITES, Nippon Koei India, Nippon Koei Co, Arup India and Ove Arup & Partners International
VI. JV of Dar Al-Handasah Consultants, Balaji Railroad Systems (BARSYL) and China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Company (CREEC)
VII. JV of DB Engineering & Consulting, Ayesa Ingeniería y Arquitectura, SAU, Korea Rail Network Authority and Dohwa Engineering Company
VIII. JV of RINA Consulting and Yuksel Proje Uluslararasi
IX. JV of AudingIntraesa, Tata Consulting Engineers, India and STUP Consultants
On 11 January 2020, CMRL had invited EoI applications to appoint a GC with an objective to support them in the development and speedy implementation of the project. A consultant will be chosen in accordance with the Quality-Cost Based Selection (QCBS) System.
The consultancy service will be funded through the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). AIIB signed a concept bid to lend approximately Rs 2,700 crore to finance Line-4 construction work including support and technical assistance needed by CMRL.
