The proposed expansion of the bottling capacity by Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCBPL) in Yadgir district, Karnataka, is facing hurdles.
The project is likely to be delayed as Bangalore High Court has stayed the land acquisition process. HCCBPL had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Karnataka government during the Global Investors Meet (GIM), in June 2010. It had asked for 250 acre and Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) is currently acquiring the land.
HCCBPL had proposed to set up a Coca-Cola bottling plant in four phases over 250 acre at Kadechur and Badiyal villages in Yadgir district. Phase-I involves an investment of Rs 250 crore. The company has already paid a little over Rs 20 crore to KIADB for land acquisition.
