Craftsman Automation, a Coimbatore-based manufacturer of automotive and industrial components, officially commenced operations at its new plant in SIPCOT Industrial Park, Shoolagiri, Hosur.
The Rs 150 crore investment aims to expand the company’s aluminium product capacity in southern India, targeting major two-wheeler and passenger car original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) located within 100-150 km of the facility. Currently, Craftsman’s existing plants operate at approx. 75 percent capacity, and the new unit is expected to optimize production efficiency. The expansion is primarily funded through term loans, covering 90 percent of the investment, with the remainder coming from internal accruals.
This strategic move strengthens Craftsman Automation’s presence in a key automotive hub and supports growing demand from OEMs. The new plant is anticipated to enhance operational capabilities and position the company for further growth in the automotive components sector.
