Cyient Semiconductors has been qualified for a pivotal contract to supply and qualify technology IPs, including design enablement, for the Rs 4,500-crore modernisation of the Semi-Conductor Laboratory (SCL) in Mohali.
The initiative, part of the Government of India's India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), aims to enhance domestic semiconductor capabilities, reduce imports, and support startups and strategic sectors. Cyient will contribute by updating process technology platforms, supplying three key technologies—RF-CMOS, BCD (HV LDMOS), and CMOS Image Sensor (CIS), for SCL’s upgraded 8-inch manufacturing line.
These technologies are crucial across industries such as automotive, energy, and connectivity. The project solidifies Cyient’s role as a key player in India’s semiconductor self-reliance.
