The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) is driving significant progress in the region through various initiatives.

Logistics Master Plans are being developed in Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, and Nagaland to boost regional connectivity. The North East Science and Technology Cluster (NEST), inaugurated at IIT Guwahati in November 2025, aims to foster innovation in fields such as semiconductors, AI, and bamboo-based technologies, with a funding of Rs 220 million. MDoNER is also focusing on cluster-based growth in agarwood and bamboo, which play a vital role in the region’s economy. Projects are underway in Assam and Tripura to promote agarwood clusters and integrate over 4,000 bamboo artisans into formal markets.

The government is also advancing investment through initiatives like the Rising North East Investors Summit, attracting Rs 4.48 trillion in investment interest. "These efforts aim to position NER as a key growth engine for a Viksit Bharat by 2047," stated MDoNER officials.
