The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has approved the Influent Zone Plan for the Jangpura–Sarai Kale Khan stretch, a significant step in the final phase of readiness for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor.
This plan, developed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), sets guidelines for land use and development around major infrastructure projects to ensure structured urban growth and mitigate broader impacts. NCRTC Managing Director Shalab Goel, speaking at the Namo Bharat Diwas event, highlighted the Corporation's aims to expand its commuter base from four crore to 8.4 crore. Also present were MoS for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokan Sahu and MoHUA Secretary Srinivas Katikithala. namo Bharat (formerly RapidX) is NCRTC’s regional rapid rail system.
The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor has 55 km operational with 11 stations, and remaining sections are nearing completion. Power procurement expansion is underway to support full operations in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
