Dabur India is set to begin the construction of its first factory in South India at Tindivanam, Tamil Nadu, with the groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for 12 February, 2026.
This development follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government in August 2024. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will participate in the ceremony virtually, marking a significant milestone for both Dabur and the state. The Rs 400 crore facility will be established in two phases. The first phase will produce products like toothpaste, honey, rosewater, and air fresheners, with an estimated capacity of 11,000 tonne. In the second phase, the focus will shift to Dabur's food and beverage portfolio.
The plant is expected to be operational within six months and will create a predominantly women workforce, with a significant portion of the supply chain sourced locally from Tamil Nadu. Hrishikesh Ramani, Dabur India’s Vice President of Manufacturing, shared, "We look forward to building a world-class manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu that is powered by state-of-the-art technology and will fully run on renewable energy."
