Dabur India will set up its first plant in Southern India, and in the first phase, it will invest Rs 135 crore in the manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, which will be scaled up to Rs 400 crore over a five-year period. The plant is expected to become operational within a year.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed with the government of Tamil Nadu on 22 August, 2024 between Guidance Tamil Nadu, and Dabur India in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin.
The multi-category manufacturing facility will be set up in SIPCOT Tindivanam, and will be among its most modern environment-friendly manufacturing facilities, with the capacity to manufacture a range of products including Red Toothpaste, Odonil, and Honey, This is expected to generate direct employment for around 250 individuals, besides creating thousands of indirect job opportunities.
Moreover, the strategic location of the new unit will help meet business and logistical requirements more efficiently, thereby offering significant advantage and growth opportunities.
