Daimler India Commercial Vehicles plans to introduce the all-electric 'eCanter' light duty truck in India within 6-12 months, which will mark its foray into the domestic battery electric segment. This is part of its long-term strategy to decarbonise its product portfolio.
While coexisting with diesel ICE technologies, the company aims to lead in sustainable transportation by focusing on excellence and supportive policy making.
The all-new next-generation eCanter saw its world premiere in Japan and Europe in 2022. The company is banking on factors such as the availability of a charging and refuelling infrastructure, green energy availability and cost parity.
