Ashok Leyland Chairman Dheeraj Hinduja announced the company’s goal to become one of the world’s top 10 commercial vehicle manufacturers as the state-of-the-art plant was inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today.
The company’s first electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh has an annual capacity of 5,000 vehicles, Chairman Hinduja highlighted the significance of the plant, calling it a symbol of what can be achieved when vision and action align. “This is our first manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh and it stands as a symbol of what can be achieved when vision is matched by decisive action,” he said. The plant is designed to produce vehicles powered by electric, alternative fuel, and emerging propulsion technologies.
Ashok Leyland also aims to support the local ecosystem by generating employment and promoting industrial growth in the region. The plant’s swift completion within 14 months further underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and future-ready manufacturing.
