Olectra Greentech has begun commercial operations of Phase I at its greenfield electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, Telangana, marking a major step in the company’s expansion in electric mobility.

The facility, located in Seetharampur, started operations on 31 December, 2025, and the commencement has been formally communicated to its lender, State Bank of India. Phase I brings an annual per-shift production capacity of 2,500 electric buses, representing 50 percent of the planned full capacity of 5,000 buses once the plant is fully operational. The new plant is expected to strengthen Olectra Greentech’s manufacturing capabilities, support its growing order book, and enhance operational efficiency.

The Hyderabad facility reflects the company’s focus on scaling up domestic EV production and advancing clean, sustainable public transport solutions in India. It also highlights progress in executing capital expenditure plans aimed at meeting the rising demand for electric buses and promoting environmentally friendly mobility.
