Dassault Aviation and Reliance Infrastructure’s subsidiary Reliance Aerostructure (RAL) have announced a landmark strategic partnership to manufacture Falcon 2000 business jets in India. The announcement was made at the Paris Air Show and marks the first time Dassault will produce Falcon jets outside France, positioning India among business jet manufacturing nations like the US, France, Canada, and Brazil. It will advance India’s aerospace manufacturing capabilities.
As part of the agreement, their joint venture Dassault Reliance Aerospace (DRAL) will set up a state-of-the-art final assembly line in Nagpur, Maharashtra. This facility will also become a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for future Falcon aircraft, including the Falcon 6X and Falcon 8X. The first ‘Made in India’ Falcon 2000 is expected to take flight by 2028, catering to both domestic and international markets, including military and corporate users.
Manufacturing responsibilities transferred to DRAL will include complete fuselage and wing assembly of Falcon 2000 and front sections of Falcon 6X and 8X. Since 2017, DRAL has delivered over 100 major Falcon 2000 sub-sections from its Nagpur unit. The expansion is expected to generate hundreds of skilled engineering jobs over the next decade.
