A new station on Delhi Metro’s upcoming Golden Line will soon provide direct connectivity between Delhi Airport’s Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 3 (T3), according to DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar.
Currently, T1 and T3 are not directly linked—T3 is connected via the Airport Express Line (Orange Line), and T1 through the Magenta Line. The new integrated metro station will be developed at Aerocity, where multiple transport modes, including the Airport Metro, the upcoming Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), and the Automated People Mover (APM), will converge.
Initially planned to end at Aerocity, the Golden Line has now been extended to T1 after discussions between Delhi International Airport (DIAL) and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The integrated Aerocity station aims to enable seamless, multi-modal connectivity across airport terminals. Meanwhile, DIAL is also planning an ‘air train’ APM system to connect T1, T2, and T3 for improved passenger movement within the airport complex.
