On July 15, Dixon Technologies (India) announced a strategic collaboration with Chinese company Chongqing Yuhai Precision Manufacturing to set up a joint venture (JV) focused on manufacturing and supplying precision electronic components in India.
The components will be used in products like laptops, mobile phones, and other electronic devices. In an official filing, Dixon confirmed the signing of a binding term sheet with Chongqing Yuhai to form the joint venture. “This collaboration will strengthen domestic production capabilities for high-precision electronic parts,” the company said.
The partnership aligns with Dixon’s participation in the Rs 22,919 crore incentive-based Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme, introduced by the government to promote domestic electronics production and reduce import dependency. By manufacturing precision components locally, the joint venture is expected to contribute to the ‘Make in India’ initiative while creating new opportunities in the Indian electronics supply chain. The move also aims to enhance competitiveness and support Dixon’s role as a leading electronic contract manufacturer in India.
