US-based power management company Eaton Corporation commenced construction of its Rs 200 crore facility in Sholinganallur, Chennai. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated the project on 07 March, 2025, marking the execution of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed six months ago between Eaton and the State government.
The MoU was formalised in September 2024 during Stalin’s visit to the US, accompanied by Industries Minister TRB Rajaa and other officials. The 1 lakh sq ft facility is expected to generate employment for 500 people upon completion. Eaton stated that the new facility will primarily support its Crouse-Hinds and B-Line business, focusing on providing sustainable and innovative power management solutions across India. These solutions cater to energy challenges in hazardous and harsh environments.
The company further noted that the expansion aligns with its global commitment to advancing digitalisation, electrification, and energy transition. As per the company, the expanded facility will enhance its capabilities in delivering cutting-edge power management solutions on sustainability and innovation parameters.
