Emami Biotech, a part of the Emami Group, plans to set up two new plants one
in Andhra Pradesh and another in Gujarat.
Work has already commenced for the new plant at Krishnapatnam in Andhra
Pradesh at an investment of Rs 250 crore. The plant is expected to have a
capacity to produce 1,000 tpd of palm oil and 300 tpd of sunflower oil. The
plant is likely to be ready by 2010-11.
Further, the company is setting up another unit at Pipapav in Gujarat with a
similar capacity and investment. However, in Gujarat, apart from palm oil,
ground nut will be the second oil option. This plant is likely to come up within
the next financial year.
