Endurance Technologies has announced that it will set up a lithium-ion battery pack manufacturing centre in Pune, Maharashtra, marking its strategic entry into the rapidly growing sectors of mobility and battery energy storage. The company will invest approx. Rs 47.3 crore in the new facility.
This move aligns with the company's broader aim to diversify into sustainable energy solutions and cater to evolving market demands. The manufacturing unit is expected to commence production in January 2026, with a phased rollout beginning in Q4/FY26.
Once fully operational, the plant will have a monthly production capacity of 35,000 battery packs, aimed at serving the domestic market. The investment is being financed entirely through internal accruals. Endurance Technologies, traditionally an auto components manufacturer, has thus far been focused on components such as suspension, braking systems, and transmission products.
The shift towards battery technology highlights a strategic pivot as the automotive industry accelerates its transition to electric vehicles (EVs) and eco-friendly alternatives.
The project represents a significant step in innovation and sustainability goals, as per the company, underlining the importance of this initiative in expanding its product portfolio to meet emerging needs in electric mobility and battery storage.
