The Indian Oil Corporation is involved in laying of a natural gas pipeline in length of about 1,170 km along the Ennore-Thiruvallur-Bengaluru- Puducherry-Nagapattinam-Madurai-Tuticorin route.
In 2015, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board had authorised the Indian Oil Corporation to execute the project and accorded approvals to lay the pipeline linking the terminal, planned at Ennore, Tamil Nadu.
A year later in 2016, SKP Projects and Mantec Consultant bagged work order for executing the pipeline work. SKP Projects was awarded a contract worth Rs 3.30 crore for detailed engineering survey, soil survey, cadastral survey and providing services for establishing ROU in ROW for the project. Mantec Consultant bagged a contract for EIA and RA study for Ramanathapuram-Tuticorin section of the project.
In the year 2017, terms of reference (ToR) was granted for Ramanathapuram-Tuticorin section of ETBPNMTPL/SRPL in Tamil Nadu.
In 2018, Al-Muaser Petroleum Services bagged an order worth Rs 64.55 crore and work was underway for laying of 16" OD, 22.5 km (approx.) R-LNG pipeline from Ennore LNG Terminal to MFL along with 6.625" OD, 1.5 km spurlines and associated combined station works of the project.
As per the latest information collected by the Projects Today research team, the R-LNG pipeline from Ennore LNG Terminal is scheduled for completion in October 2018.
