Escorts Kubota has announced a Rs 4,500 crore investment to set up a tractor manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh, as the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has allotted 200 acres of land in Sector-10.
The company signed an MoU with the UP government in August 2024, with the project expected to generate 4,000 employment opportunities, in phases. In the first phase, Escorts Kubota will invest Rs 2,000 crore to establish a tractor plant, a commercial equipment facility, and allied units, while the second phase will depend on market demand and utilisation. The new facility will cater to both domestic and international markets, boosting India’s positioning as a hub for farm machinery.
Additionally, the company plans to establish shared services for Kubota’s global research and development operations from India, further strengthening the country’s role in agricultural equipment manufacturing. Formed in 2019 as a joint venture between India’s Escorts and Japan’s Kubota, the company currently manufactures tractors, engines, farm machinery, and construction equipment. The project is positioned to enhance UP’s industrial and agricultural machinery sector.
