The Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC)
has reportedly acquired 555 acre in Bahadurgarh for setting up of a general
purpose industrial estate and a dedicated footwear park.
A Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) is being set up at
industrial model township in Rohtak at an estimated cost of Rs 110 crore,
excluding the cost of land. It is expected to give an upward thrust to the
existing footwear industry in the state and the neighbouring areas. Besides,
FDDI is likely to provide training facility and extend services to the industry
in the area of design, technology, quality and productivity.
HSIIDC had allotted 15 acre on lease to the Union Ministry of Commerce and
Industry for setting up the FDDI.
