Fortis Healthcare has entered into an operations and management agreement with the Ekana Group to run a 550-bed greenfield super specialty hospital in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
The facility, located near Gomti Nagar, will serve as a Centre of Excellence for tertiary care services, delivering advanced infrastructure and global best practices. Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, MD & CEO of Fortis, said the collaboration marks the company’s third presence in Uttar Pradesh, complementing its existing hospitals in Noida and Greater Noida, and highlights its commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery across the state.
Fortis currently operates 33 facilities across 11 states with over 5,700 beds and 400 diagnostics labs, and the new hospital reinforces its integrated healthcare model. Ekana Group promoter Uday Sinha emphasized that the partnership will "significantly enhance access to advanced medical services and deliver patient care where it’s most needed." The Lucknow project supports Fortis’ strategic focus on expanding in Tier-2 cities, where rising urbanisation and income growth are driving demand for quality tertiary healthcare.
