On 24 June 2006, Prime Minister,
Dr.Manmohan Singh laid the foundation stone for ten -lane mixed
corridor from Silk Board Junction to Electronic City on the Bangalore-Hosur
section on NH-7.
The scope of work includes improvement
of the highway between 8.765 km and 33.13 km, involving construction of a nine
km four-lane elevated highway from Silk Road Junction to Electronic City.
The works that will be completed
during the period are as follows:
- Construction of an elevated 4-lane
highway from 9.5 km to 18.75 km including Electronic City interchange
- Widening of ground level existing
road from 8.765 km to 18.75 km to provide wide carriageways for 8.75 km in
each direction
- Construction of pre-cast RCC-covered
drains on both sides of main carriageways after dismantling existing drains.
- Widening of cross drainage
structures
- Construction of pedestrian
underpasses at Bommana Halli (9.925 km), Garvebavi Palya (11.385 km), Kudlu
Gate (12.140 km) and Singasandra (13.550 km)
