Chemicals producer GHCL has secured environment clearance (EC) for its soda ash greenfield project in Kutch, Gujarat.
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India, granted the EC on 12 December, 2024.
This comes as part of GHCL’s efforts to expand its soda ash production capacity in the region. The unit at Bada village, Mandvi taluka will have a capacity of 11,00,000 tpa, and will spread over 1,350 acre of land.
The project will be implemented in two phases will provide employment opportunities for 1,200 persons. Moreover, Tata Consulting Engineers has been appointed as the consultant for structural design and plant design services for the project.
