The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has received approval to construct two major flyovers at Ambedkar Chowk and Dadi Sati Chowk to address severe traffic congestion in the city.
The Ambedkar Chowk flyover, spanning 700 mtrs. at a cost of Rs 52 crore, will ease traffic at the intersection of sectors 45/46 and 51/52. The Dadi Sati Chowk flyover, stretching 840 mtrs. and costing Rs 59 crore, will connect sectors 85, 86, 89, and 90.
GMDA's Chief Engineer, Arun Dhankhar, emphasised that the project is part of a broader redevelopment plan aimed at improving one of the city's busiest junctions. A traffic survey showed that Ambedkar Chowk experiences significant delays, impacting ambulances, especially near Artemis Hospital. Tenders for the project are expected soon after the finalisation of the Detailed Notice Inviting Tender (DNIT).
