Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) has entered into a long-term supply agreement (LSA) with City Gold Pipes, a consortium comprising Goldcrest Cement and Kailash Darshan Housing Development (Gujarat).
Under this agreement, GMDC will supply 150 million tonne of limestone over the next 40 years from its upcoming Lakhpat Punrajpur Mine, located in Lakhpat Taluka, Kutch District, Gujarat. The formal signing of the agreement took place on 06 May, 2025, with Roopwant Singh, IAS, Managing Director of GMDC, and Sanjay Chimanlal Agrawal, Authorized Representative of City Gold Pipes. This long-term agreement marks a major milestone for GMDC’s resource monetisation strategy and aligns with the corporation's mission to drive sustainable economic development through responsible mineral extraction.
The Lakhpat Punrajpur Mine is expected to play a pivotal role in supplying high-grade limestone, a vital raw material for industries such as cement manufacturing and infrastructure development. GMDC’s collaboration with City Gold Pipes is seen as a strategic alliance, unlocking the potential of the Lakhpat Punrajpur reserve and supporting the state’s vision of industrial growth and sustainable resource management.
