Mumbai-based Godrej Enterprise Group (GEG), among the city’s largest landholders, is preparing a comprehensive masterplan for the systematic development of its 1,000-acre land parcel in suburban Vikhroli, a senior company official said.
The Group, led by Jamshyd Godrej and his sister Smita Crishna, has relocated some manufacturing activities from the site. “We will continue to have manufacturing in Vikhroli. And we are also undertaking a master planning exercise now to look over time how it will be developed in a systematic manner,” said Nyrika Holkar, GEG’s executive director.
This strategic approach reflects GEG’s intent to optimise its prime suburban land while maintaining a footprint for ongoing manufacturing, ensuring sustainable growth and efficient land utilisation in one of Mumbai’s key industrial corridors.
