Haworth, which provides premium global workspace solutions aims to expand and strengthen its presence in India. The design conglomerate is making an investment of USD 8 to USD 10 million for setting up its second factory in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.

This would enable the company to further enhance its footprint in the Asia-Pacific region, which presents new opportunities with a wider customer base and diverse market needs. Besides, it would double the space of its current plant totalling to 1,13,000 sq. ft. 

The new factory will significantly contribute towards collaborative products manufacturing as also high-end ergonomic seatings. It will produce some of the key products such as Zody, Fern, Aloha, HAT, Intuity, Riverbend, Pebble range of products, among other brands. Besides serving the needs of the domestic market through the furniture and components produce, the factory will play a pivotal role in crafting products for export to North America and Europe.

Haworth has also inaugurated its 26,000 sq. ft. largest showroom spread across 26,000 sq. ft. in Chennai. It has been designed to showcase a blend of inspiration, aesthetics, functionality, and workstyles, with a focus on interiors, seating, and natural lighting. 

The company primarily caters to the healthcare, hospitality and education sectors, even as IT companies are looking to set up their offices in tier-II cities. It is also set to launch new products adding to its product line.

Haworth has its presence across 150 plus countries through a global network of 400 dealers and 8,000 employees. In India, it has five showrooms and offices, and has also established a global Shared Services Centre (SSC) in Chennai as part of the company’s bestshoring initiative.
