The Kerala government has approved projects worth Rs 712 crore across multiple departments to strengthen agriculture, infrastructure, and social welfare sectors.
Under the Social Justice Department, Rs 73 crore was sanctioned for constructing a 250-bed rehabilitation hospital and an academic block at the National Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The Agriculture Department approved Rs 176.14 crore for establishing 26 Smart Krishi Bhavans across 12 districts, developing paddy field infrastructure in Alappuzha, and mitigating human-wildlife conflicts in Kannur. The Department of Coastal Shipping and Inland Navigation received Rs 217 crore for building boat jetties at Mayyil and Mullakodi and six bridges over the TS Canal.
Additionally, the Kerala State Warehousing Corporation has been allotted Rs 44.92 crore for modern warehouses, while the Kerala Agro Machinery Corporation received Rs 36.45 crore to enhance Vajra 120 power tiller production. The Local Self-Government Department also secured Rs 165 crore for the Comprehensive Municipal Liquid Waste Management and Road Restoration project.
