The Himachal Pradesh government plans to set up several solar projects under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, which will lower the cost of clean energy for consumers and support lowering carbon footprints.
The big private players and the major public sector undertakings (PSUs) have showed interest to invest in the projects.
Further, Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVNL) is coming up with five solar power projects (SPPs) in Himachal Pradesh.
A 112.5 MW Thaplan solar power project, 20 MW SPP Bhanjal and Kadh in the Una district, 20 MW in Fatehpur in the Kangra district, 30 MW SPP Kolar in the Sirmaur district, and 12.5 MW Rajgir in the Kangra district are in pre-construction stage.
Additionally, the state chief secretary established a committee to supervise the execution of power projects to be complete within a specified timeframe.
