The Himachal Pradesh government has approved the construction of an aerial ropeway from Kullu Bus Stand to Peej Paragliding Point at an estimated cost of Rs. 80 crore.
The 1.20-km ropeway will enhance tourist accessibility to Peej village, which is 12 km by road from Kullu and serves as the gateway to Lug Valley. This initiative aims to boost adventure tourism, strengthen the local economy, and create new opportunities for paragliders. A government spokesperson emphasised that the project aligns with the state’s strategy to promote adventure, religious, and water sports tourism.
Additionally, efforts are being made to develop eco-tourism, allowing tourists to experience Himachal’s wilderness and ecosystems while ensuring natural resource conservation.
