Hindustan Power, a prominent Indian energy company, has secured a 150 MW solar power and battery storage project under SECI’s ISTS–XX tender.
The project will deploy 300 MWp of solar capacity and 300 MWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Chairman Ratul Puri emphasized the company's focus on flexible, storage-led renewable assets, saying, "This project reflects our continuous commitment to advancing India’s transition toward a modern, flexible and future-ready energy ecosystem. Our focus remains on building assets that deliver stability and efficiency, as we continue to build future-ready energy infrastructure that supports India’s clean-energy ambitions."
The contract was won through competitive bidding and will enhance grid reliability and clean power delivery. Hindustan Power is also developing other renewable projects, including a 435 MW solar project in Uttar Pradesh and a 100 MW solar project in Assam paired with a 100 MW battery storage system, and a 120 MWh battery-storage project in Bihar. These initiatives align with India’s clean energy goals and further strengthen Hindustan Power's renewable energy portfolio.
