The Rajasthan Cabinet has approved a Rs 15,600 crore joint venture between Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (RVUNL) and Singareni Collieries Company (SCCL).
The JV will develop an 800 MW coal-based plant and 1,500 MW of solar capacity in the state. Alongside this, the Cabinet has sanctioned land for a major 765 kV power grid substation in Barmer to enhance the state's renewable energy transmission. Additionally, the state cleared the Rajasthan Global Capability Centre (GCC) Policy-2025, aimed at attracting multinational companies to establish innovation hubs in Jaipur, Udaipur, and Jodhpur.
In a strategic move to strengthen global ties, Rajasthan also approved the formation of a dedicated diaspora department to engage non-resident Rajasthani communities and promote investment.
