Hindustan Zinc (HZL) is keen to acquire lithium assets by participating in the auction of the metal reserves, which are likely to be held in December this year. The Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) administration is also in the process of appointing a transaction advisor.
About 5.9 million tonne of reserves have been identified in Salal-Haimna area of Reasi district, J&K for the first time in India. The company is looking forward to exploring the opportunities in the critical metal, which could potentially drive the growth path in India.
