Indian Oil Corporation in joint
venture with Chennai Petroleum Corporation has firmed up plans to set up a 15
million tpa refinery and petrochemical complex at Ennore in Tamil Nadu four
years after it commissions its east coast Paradip refinery in Orissa.
The project to be spread over
3,500-4,000 acres of land will entail an investment of Rs.25,000 crore. The
facility will also include naphtha cracker and aromatics complex.
The proposed Paradip refinery is
scheduled for commissioning in 2011 and Ennore refinery will come up thereafter
in 2015-16.
