Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) has finalised the levelised cost of hydrogen (LCoH) for establishing India’s largest green hydrogen project at its Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex.
The 10,000 tonne per annum green hydrogen generation unit is a major step forward in the country’s clean energy transition and marks IndianOil’s official entry into the green hydrogen space. The project, expected to be commissioned by December 2027, will utilise green hydrogen to replace fossil-based hydrogen in refinery operations.
This is projected to result in a substantial reduction in carbon emissions, contributing to India’s climate goals. Strategically aligned with the National Green Hydrogen Mission, this initiative also advances IndianOil’s decarbonisation roadmap and Net Zero aims. As a pioneering move, it underscores the company’s commitment to leading India's energy transformation through sustainable and innovative solutions.
