Indian Petrochemicals Corporation is planning to
set up the world's biggest mono ethylene glycol (MEG) plant at Gandhar in
Bharuch district of South Gujarat.
The proposed project estimated to cost around
Rs.1,000 crore will have a capacity of five lakh tpa.
Meanwhile the expansion projects at Vadodara
petrochemical complex and PVC plant at Gandhar to 4 lakh tpa are under
progress. IPCL will also be taking up the expansion of existing MEG plant by 157
per cent to 1,88,000 tpa. The company is also
planning to expand chlor-alkali plant by 25 per cent to 1,70,000 tpa of caustic
soda. All these projects would entail an investment of Rs.100 crore.
