ITC Hotels has signed a management agreement with Narne Hotels and Resorts, to further expand its Welcomhotel brand presence in South India. The 150-keys hotel is located at Madikeri hill town in Kodagu district of Karnataka.

The property, strategically located on the MG Road in central Madikeri, will also offer two restaurants and bars, a lounge and over 1,300 sq. mtrs. of meeting space. The region offers a variety of experiences for travellers, including wildlife, adventure, spiritual sites and leisure activities. The region has witnessed significant rise in tourist visitation, as also driven by demand from agricultural and administrative segments.

The Kodagu district is known for its green valleys, coffee plantations and spice trails, and regional cuisine. Furthermore, Madikeri is known for the Raja’s Seat, a 200-year-old monument whichoverlooks forests, rice paddy fields and is known for sunrise and sunset views.

Eyeing a niche space for leisure travel, the company brings the signature hospitality of ITC Hotels, and expects to provide memorable guest experiences. With this signing ITC’s Hotel group further strengthens its presence in Karnataka, where it operates 11 hotels and over 1,300 rooms under various brands including ITC Hotels, Welcomhotel, Fortune and Welcomheritage.
