ITC Chairman Sanjiv Puri has announced plans to expand the company’s hospitality presence in West Bengal by adding three new hotels in Darjeeling, Kurseong, and Sundarbans, in addition to five others already in the pipeline.
Speaking at the Business & Industry Conclave 2025, Chairman Puri emphasised that the expansion would tap into the state’s growing tourism sector. He praised the West Bengal government for making the state a preferred destination for international tourists. ITC currently operates seven hotels in the state, including two luxury properties in Kolkata—ITC Sonar and ITC Royal Bengal. Further expansion includes a super-luxury hotel planned for Siliguri, alongside five more hotels through partnerships.
ITC’s long-standing presence in Kolkata, includes its 20 manufacturing facilities, and the expansion of food processing capacity, with the Panchala plant growing from three to eight production lines. Additionally, ITC is advancing AI-led innovation through a partnership with Google.
