Construction Company, Italian-Thai Development - ITD Cementation India (ITD-Cemindia) joint venture has emerged as the lowest bidder for four packages of Bangalore Metro project. The total value of the bids for the four packages is around Rs 2,400 crore. These include:
1. Construction of 7.218 km Reach 1B from Visvesvaraya Industrial Area - Whitefield extension line of the 18 km Purple Line. The JV has put the lowest bid at Rs 683.79 crore. The entirely elevated extension will have seven stations. The contractor will be responsible for constructing a small viaduct connecting the main line to the proposed Whitefield depot. Construction of the section is likely to begin in June 2017.
2. Construction of 8.039 km Reach 1A between the existing Baiyappanahalli station and the upcoming Visvesvaraya Industrial Area station. The Reach 1A section will extend the 18 km long Purple Line further eastward by another 15.257 km to Whitefield. The JV put the lowest bid at Rs 689.51 crore. The section includes six new stations. Construction of the section is likely to begin in June 2017.
3. Construction of 6.418 km Reach 5 - Package 1 section of the Bangalore Metro project’s 19.14 km RV road - Bommasandra line (Line-3) between Bommasandra and Hosa road under the Phase 2 project. The company placed the bid at Rs 485.52 crore. The contractor will build five new stations as well as a viaduct leading into the new Hebbagodi depot.
4. Reach 5 Package P2 Viaduct from Hosa road to HSR layout consisting of 6.385 km viaduct and six nos. of station buildings. The company placed the bid at Rs 511.36 crore.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) invited bids for the above packages of the 72 km long Phase 2 project in December 2016.
