Ind-Barath Energy Utkal (IBEUL) plans to set up a 20 MW biomass power plant
on 40 acre at Chiplima near Sambalpur in Orissa at an investment of Rs.80 crore.
IBEUL has submitted proposals to Industrial Promotion and Investment
Corporation of Orissa (IPICOL) and the Orissa Renewable Energy Development
Agency seeking necessary clearances. The company expects the plant to become
operational within 18 months of allotment of land by the state.
The company has also started the leveling work on its Rs.3,150 crore coal
based power plant at Sahajbahal in Deogarh district, Orissa with a capacity of
700 MW (2x350 MW). The project is being developed over an area of around 600
acre and the company has already acquired 450 acre and the balance land will be
acquired shortly. IBEUL has placed orders for construction equipment worth Rs.90
crore. The project is expected to be commissioned by 2011.
