Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed a greenfield project for a Taj hotel in Mohali, Punjab.
The new Taj Mohali will feature 225 rooms, with multiple dining options, including a speciality restaurant, all-day dining, and a bar. Leisure and wellness facilities will include a health club, gym, swimming pool, and the J Wellness Circle. The hotel will also offer over 26,000 sq. ft. of banqueting space, suitable for corporate functions, social gatherings, and weddings. IHCL’s Executive Vice-President, Suma Venkatesh, stated that Mohali's growth as a key IT and commercial hub in Punjab, along with the state's increasing popularity for weddings and social events, makes it a prime location for expansion.
IHCL operates under several brands, including SeleQtions, Claridges Collection, Vivanta, and Ginger. The company, founded by Tata Group in 1903, has a global portfolio of 610 hotels, with 253 more properties in development worldwide.
