Industrial Energy Ltd (IEL), a JV between Tata Power and Tata Steel, has
commissioned its gas based 1X120 MW power plants power house-six at Jamshedpur
in Jharkhand.
The power plant has been set up at a total cost of Rs 490 crore and has been
commissioned in 34 months. The entire power generated by the plant will be
consumed by Tata Steel to meet its increased demand of the Jamshedpur works.
The newly inaugurated power plant is a green power plant and using blast
furnace gas, coke oven gas & LD converter gas from Tata Steel. The boilers have
been supplied by Alstom and the turbine by BHEL.
